Louët handcards are made of European basswood, a lightweight yet strong wood traditionally used for applications such as piano keys. These lightweight handcards feature a curved back and ergonomically shaped handles that fit comfortably in your hands. The carding cloth used by Louët is made of high-quality plated steel wire set in a durable rubber backing. This high-quality construction ensures a long service life.
The 19 × 10 cm (7½″ × 4″) handcards are available in:
Standard cloth – 46 teeth per square inch (tpi)
Fine cloth – 72 teeth per square inch (tpi)
Extra fine cloth (cotton carders) – 110 tpi
The 10 × 10 cm (4″ × 4″) handcards are available exclusively in 110 tpi.
To ensure a long service life, the teeth on all Louët carders are made of high-grade plated steel wire. Handcards are sold in pairs.
