Jane 8/16 shafts

Information

Jane was originally only an 8 shaft loom, however in 2023, a 16 shaft version was introduced. Today, the loom is available as 8 or 16 shafts and the 8 shaft model is expandable to 16 shafts. The original 8 shaft only model remains available while supplies last.

Jane has been designed after consultation with weavers, at the same time using successful techniques from its predecessor, the Kombo. There is no cord wear, since cords run over rollers and the overhead beater stays out of the way when throwing the shuttle. Jane is made of lacquered beech and has a built in raddle. The loom is partly assembled and comes with:

  • a large shed
  • beater
  • large weaving surface
  • carrying handle (only for Jane 50, Jane 70 is too big) and protective feet to lean on
  • harnesses that snap back to rest position
  • partially pre-assembled
  • padded travel bag (as accessory)
  • apron bars, warp sticks and lease sticks
  • heddles (800/1200 50/70 - 16 shaft, 400/600 expandable 8 shaft)
  • metric reed 40-10
  • a shuttlerace (as accessory for the old 8 shaft Jane or the expandable 8 shaft Janes)

Jane 16

The loom is available with 8 shafts, expandable to 16 shafts or straight with 16 shafts. This is a unique feature for table looms with 16 shafts. The Jane is the most compact 8+ shaft table loom on the market that folds easily. This makes weavers even more likely to choose the Louet Jane loom.
